Education Projects
School Theatre Interior (Hartford)

New theatre interior at The Grange School in Hartford.

MBS Executive Education Facility

Cilent: MBS/Bruntwood

Architect: BDP

Contract Value: £3.2 million

New 2-storey facility as part of a new £30M Hotel (also designed by DW Consulting) and Executive Education Centre complex. The Executive Education building is aimed at specialised training of MSc courses in different executive level business and commercial fields with a very high standard of finish and accommodation.

St. Aidens High School (Harrogate)

New teaching rooms and hall at St. Aidens High School in Harrogate.

Rose Hill Primary School (Stockport)

Contract Value: £6.5 million

New 2-storey school including all teaching / student areas together with extensive external recreational spaces. The project included the use of permeable paving throughout the external areas and car parks together with new land drainage to a football pitch and creation of wildlife habitat ‘ponds’.

Llanfoist School (Abergavenny)

Contract Value: £5 million

New school including all teaching / student areas together with recreational spaces. The main structure is from sustainable timber sources to supplement the Sustainable credentials of the building.

MAHDLO – Oldham Youth Zone

Cilent: OnSide

Contract Value: £4.5 million

Purpose built leisure centre over 3-storeys incorporating sports hall, gyms, workout rooms, dance theatre and external muga pitch together with offices and café.

Altrincham Grammar School for Boys (Leisure Centre)

Cilent: AGSB

Architect: Michael Hyde Associates

New leisure & sports centre at the grammar school.

Office Projects
Bright Building (Manchester)

BCO shortlisted office building over 4 storeys.

DW Consulting were responsible for preparation of scheme design of the superstructure, foundations, drainage and external hardstanding’s as part of the design & build procurement tender.

Following award of the contract, DW Consulting were retained by MSP to scheck the contractors designs and details to ensure that the design was compatible with the clients’ requirements.

New Merrion House (Leeds)

Contract Value: £12million

 A full refurbishment of an existing office building including re-cladding the building and new cores. In addition, a new 7-storey above ground extension with basement.

The refurbished block and annexe were linked by an atrium, which provided a welcoming setting for both the public and staff entrances.

Commercial Projects
Whitehall Riverside (Leeds)

A prestigious office/retail development situated on the banks of the River Aire. The eight-storey structure provides approx. 120,000ft2 of predominantly office accommodation with the addition of a retail unit at ground floor level and sub level parking.

The elevations are of high-quality, glass and steel facade with a full height atrium, feature core areas and double-height external areas within the building footprint.

The structure comprises a steel frame utilising long spanning composite beams and decks providing a clear floor layout and minimised structural/services zones. This results in floor plates with a 16.5 m clear span structural grid, allowing total freedom of office space-planning

Cornerblock (Birmingham)

BCO award winning commercial development bringing a vacant office building back to life.

Part new-build, part refurbishment, the works included justifying the existing structure to support up to 4 storey vertical extensions onto the existing office areas, together with an internal 7 storey extension linking the ‘U’ shaped building together more economically.

Santander – Branch Refurbishments

We work for Santander to provide structural engineering advice for branch refurbishments and modifications throughout the UK. These range from simple wall removals up to full building refurbishments in excess of £1 million.

Riverside Office Complex (Salford)

Refurbishment of office complex including office suites, external courtyards and surrounding roads. In addition 2 new glazed entrances created.

100 Wellington Street (Leeds)

Refurbishment of existing 4 storey office building including new lift shafts and ‘knocking through’ to adjacent buildings.

Health Projects

Orchards Care Home (Brighouse)

New care home in Brighouse.

Cross Lane Hospital (Scarborough)

New mental health hospital in Scarborough.

Baxter Health Care

Retained structural engineers for all new build, refurbishments and modifications to existing production and office facilities at sites throughout the UK including a new 34,000ft2 production facility with associated 2-storey offices in Liverpool. Currently working on the full overhaul of the main production facility in Thetford as part of a $60M scheme.

Haematology & Oncology Unit (York Hospital)

Contract Value: £4 million

New 2-storey unit built partly over existing buildings comprising new treatment and consultancy areas.

Sterile Services Unit (Scarborough Hospital)

Contract Value: £1.5 million

New single storey building with mezzanine floors built on a difficult sloping site.

New Lecture Theatre (Bradford Royal Infirmary)

Contract Value: £2.5 million

New timber framed lecture theatre built inside a cylindrical steel framed glazed building.

New Mental Health Unit (Scarborough)

Contract Value: £12 million

Working with Turner & Townsend on the OGC Framework to provide a new dementia care unit within existing hospital grounds incorporating clear span frames allowing full flexibility of room layouts.

Multi-Storey Car Park and Administration Building (York Hospital)

Contract Value: £4 million

New 5-storey multi-storey car park with attached administration buildings.

Leisure Projects

Crowne Plaza & Staybridge Suites

New Crowne Plaza/Staybridge Suites Hotel development at Manchester Business School, and the adjoining 2 storey steel frame executive educational building was constructed.

DW Consulting were responsible for the overall design of the structures & foundations together with the below ground drainage.

De Vere Whites Hotel (Reebok Stadium Bolton)

Client: De Vere Hotels

Accommodation comprises 9 Suites, 43 syndicate rooms, 4 corner suites. In addition there are 125 standard bedrooms, 19 of which have pitch views.Leisure facilities include an indoor pool, gymnasium, spa, steam room, sauna and beauty salon. Hotel interface with the stadium resulting in an interesting structural solution!

Travelodge (Morecambe)

Client: JAP Pension Fund

Architect: Harris Partnership

Contract Value: £3.5 million

New hotel comprising 4 storeys of accommodation above 2-storey retail space.

New Morrisons Supermarket (Salford)

Client: LPC

Architect: FCH Liverpool

Contract Value: £3.2 million

45,000 ft2 supermarket together with 8,000ft2 of new 2-storey offices and multi-storey car park.

New Tesco Supermarket (Farnworth)

Client: Watkins Jones

Architect: Smith Smalley

Contract Value: £3.2 million

65,000 ft2 supermarket plus 10,000ft2 Dot.Com building together with 5,000ft2 of 2-storey offices and approx. 300 space car park.

Magnet, Edge Lane (Liverpool)

New Showroom and warehouse for Magnet Kitchens.

32,000 ft2 warehouse on former car park together with 8,000ft2 of new 2-storey offices. Completion due September 2013.
